Conditions of sale
Buying a watch
To be eligible to buy from our platform individuals must be over the age of 18. If you are under the age you cannot lawfully enter into a contract with us and must have someone of age place the order on your behalf and agree to these conditions of sale.
You understand that pre-owned watches vary in condition. The condition on every watch listing is described as accurately as possible and photographed as clearly as possible; however, if you have any questions about the condition of any watch please contact us. All accessories included with a watch will be detailed and shown in the images of each watch listing.
Rolex Watch Trader are not the manufacturer of the products we sell. If we are unable to fulfil an order we might not be able to find a like-for-like replacement.
Order Process
Once you have chosen an item you may add it to your basket. You can then proceed to checkout by registering your details with us. Your email address, phone number, shipping address and billing address will be required during the checkout process.
To complete your order the final step will be to provide your payment information.
We reserve the right to cancel an order at any time if (1) there is an ongoing dispute regarding a previous order (2) we believe you have engaged in fraudulent activities (3) you have violated any of our terms and conditions.
Orders placed by email will be confirmed by us. An invoice will be produced and sent to the customer via email, in this instance payment can only be made via a bank transfer. Any in person purchases made at our Mayfair office payments can only be made by the buyer with their own debit/credit card or from their own bank via a BACS transfer. We reserve the right to cancel or accept an order placed prior to payment being made/requested or taken. We reserve the right to request additional information to verify the buyer which is not limited to their identification only.
Payment
All payments must be made to us in GBP unless confirmed by us in writing. Refunds will also be issued in GBP. All prices shown are inclusive of sales tax and VAT however exclude shipping costs and any other taxes.
Before we dispatch an item we must receive full and cleared funds from you. All forms of accepted payment methods are outlined on the payment details page of the checkout process.
Orders made with an initial deposit must be completed within the agreed timeframe or we reserve the right to cancel the order and relist the item for sale. A refund of the deposit will be made within one working day after the cancellation.
Delivery
We do not ship to countries or restricted areas outlined on the sanctions list and PO boxes. All orders will be deemed completed once our courier has confirmed delivery to the provided address, when collected by the buyer from our offices or delivered in person by a member of staff to an agreed address.
We reserve the right to investigate any non-delivery claims. This may involve reporting the issue to local police and/or other authorities for investigation. We will conduct our investigation as quickly as possible, but please note that we are reliant on the cooperation of third parties.
Customs
If you are purchasing from outside of the UK, you may be subject to import duties, taxes, fees, or other charges levied by customs or other authorities in the country of receipt. Any additional charges for customs clearance are your sole responsibility; we have no control over these charges and will not accept any liability for them. If you have any doubts about whether these charges apply to your order, please contact your local tax or customs office for further information.
Warranty
All our watches are covered by either our standard 24 month warranty or a limited 12 month warranty. The warranty given to each watch will be specified in the listing.
The warranty covers the watch against manufacturing and mechanical defects. Our warranty will run in conjunction with any remaining manufacturer’s warranty.
The warranty will not include theft or loss of your watch, normal wear and tear, cosmetic damage, damage caused by mistreatment or failure to follow the manufacturers instructions.
Bracelet sizes
Bracelet sizes vary between watches and do not always have a full retail length bracelet. Each watch listing will detail the length of the bracelet. Any requested alteration to bracelet size is at the discretion of Rolex Watch Trader.
Returns
For the first 14 days after your purchase you may cancel the sale without giving a reason.
To cancel an order you can send us an email to sales@rolexwatchtrader.co.uk. You will be sent an email template to confirm the cancellation. If accepted you must action your return within 3 working days of acceptance.
The return postage and insurance cost will be at your expense unless the item was faulty on delivery. If the item arrives faulty we will refund reasonably incurred return postage costs.
We recommend using a tracked postage service and package products appropriately to avoid damage during transit. If the item is damaged due to unnecessary handling or missing accessories or paperwork we reserve the right to make any deductions from any reimbursement due to loss in value.
Refunds
If you are due a refund we will process the refund in full 5 working days after acceptance. We will only send the refund to the account which made the initial payment and in the currency in which it was received. The initial shipping charges will be non-refundable.
Credit note
Your credit note may be limited in time; please check the credit note to see what time limit applies. If for any valid reason you choose to return products purchased with a credit note, another credit note will be issued.
If your credit note exceeds the purchase price of the products, no change will be given for the unused portion of the credit note and you will be issued a further credit note for the remaining amount. If you have a valid reason to return this item, another credit note will be issued to the value of the original credit note.
Where your credit note is less than the purchase price of the products, you must pay the outstanding payment balance to complete the transaction. If you have a valid reason to return the order, another credit note will be issued for the original credit note amount and only the outstanding payment balance will be refunded back in the manner in which it was originally paid.
It is important to keep your original credit note safe as copies will not be accepted. The credit note must be presented prior to the point of purchase in order for the products to be collected or shipped.
CONFLICT WITH OTHER AGREEMENTS
These Conditions of Sale, and other applicable documents, constitute the entire agreement between the parties. If there is any inconsistency between other communications and these Conditions of Sale, the latter shall prevail.
CONDITIONS OF PURCHASE
By selling to Rolex Watch Trader you agree to the conditions of purchase. You should save these Conditions of Purchase for future reference.
It is important that you read and understand these Conditions of Purchase before you sell your watch to us. If there is any term that you do not understand or do not accept, then please contact us by email sales@rolexwatchtrader.co.uk
Only private individuals (and not legal entities) who have reached the age of 18 and have legal capacity to enter into contracts may sell their watch to us under these Conditions of Purchase.
Selling Process
If you would like to sell your watch to us you will need to provide us with details including its model, make, age, existence of manufacturer box and/or paperwork and serial number by either entering details on the sell page of our website or via email, text or Whatsapp.
Please provide us with accurate information about your watch. If you provide us with inaccurate or misleading information it will result in an inaccurate initial offer which will cannot be relied on.
We will contact you via email or telephone with an initial offer which is subject to inspection of the watch. We can change or withdraw our offer at any time, for any reason.
On receipt of your watch we will conduct a physical inspection and due diligence checks. Our checks include a search on the lost and stolen database which if returned a match we may be legally bound to secure the watch and, where necessary, to inform local law enforcement.
After our checks are complete we will provide you with a final offer. The Final Offer may differ to the initial quotation for reasons including, but not limited to: (i) the watch does not fully comply with the information provided during the initial quotation process; or (ii) the condition is such that the watch requires servicing work to bring it to a sellable condition; or (iii) other relevant factors not previously disclosed which affect the valuation. In the event that the transaction changes, for example from a part-exchange to a direct purchase the offer price may also change.
If the final offer is not accepted the watch will be returned to you.
Payment
All payments will be made in GBP.
Payment will be made to the bank account you provide. It is your responsibility to ensure the accuracy of these details, as we cannot be held liable for payments sent to incorrect bank accounts. We will not make any payments to third parties and will only make one payment.
International sellers may be subject to an additional bank charge. The price quoted excludes import duties or other taxes, fees and charges that may be applicable
We reserve the right to offset any amounts you owe us against any amounts we owe you, at any time and without limiting our other rights or remedies.
Delivery
Following the acceptance of our initial offer you can either post or deliver in person to our Mayfair office or collection from your home or office can be arranged. However home collection is subject to availability, depending on your location.
Once the watch is in our possession, either through collection by us or receipt at our office, we will assume responsibility for it. Until then the watch remains your responsibility.
If the watch is returned to you, responsibility reverts to you upon delivery to your specified address.
When shipping your watch to us, it is your responsibility to ensure it is appropriately packaged. We are not liable for any damage, loss, or non-receipt of the watch during transit. We will notify you promptly upon receipt of your watch.
Upon your acceptance of the Final Offer, ownership of the watch will transfer from you to us.
Customs & Import
For international customers outside the UK, additional import/export duties, taxes, fees, and charges may be levied by customs or other relevant authorities.
You are responsible for any additional charges related to customs clearance, as these are beyond our control. For more information on potential charges and declarations, please contact your local tax or customs office before shipping your watch to us. We shall not be liable to you if you fail to comply with these obligations.
Your undertakings
You undertake that all information provided to us is true, accurate, and complete. You confirm that you have not concealed any facts regarding the watch’s identity, quality, history, provenance, authenticity, legal status, or general characteristics that a reasonable buyer in our position would consider important.
You further confirm the watch is your property and you are entitled to sell it free of any burden. Including
- The watch has not been reported as lost or stolen.
- The watch is not subject to any undisclosed finance agreement.
- No other person has claims to the watch.
Condition
The watch has not been customised or altered using counterfeit or parts not genuine to the manufacturer. You accept that all elements of the watch including its make, model, and serial number, are material to its identity and absence or misrepresentation of any such element will be considered a deviation from the agreed-upon watch.
Remedies
If the watch doesn’t comply with the terms and conditions set out under the contract we may:
1. terminate or rescind the contract
2. reject the watch and return it to you at your own risk and expense;
3. to require you to provide a full refund of the price (if paid); and/or
4. to claim damages for any other costs, loss or expenses incurred by us which are in any way attributable to your failure to carry out your obligations under the contract.
